Frequently asked questions
Getting Started
What is PrepPractice ?
PrepPractice is an online ACT prep platform designed to help students improve through focused, topic-based practice and clear performance insights. Instead of overwhelming students with generic content, PrepPractice helps them practice what matters most and track progress efficiently.
Who is this for?
PrepPractice is built for high school students preparing for the ACT at any stage, whether they are just starting, taking a diagnostic, or working to improve specific section scores. It is also designed for parents seeking a structured, affordable, and self-paced prep option.
How do I start if I’m new to the ACT?
New students can begin by taking a diagnostic assessment to understand their current level. From there, PrepPractice guides students toward targeted practice areas and recommends where to focus first.
Practice & Content
Can I practice by topic?
Yes. PrepPractice allows students to practice ACT questions by topic, such as Algebra, Geometry, Grammar rules, or Reading skills. This helps students strengthen weak areas instead of relying on random practice.
Are the questions ACT-style?
Yes. All questions are original and carefully written to match the ACT in style, structure, and difficulty. While we do not use official ACT questions, our content closely reflects what students will encounter on test day.
How should I study each day?
Most students see strong improvement by studying 30–60 minutes per day, focusing on targeted practice rather than full-length tests every session. Consistent, focused practice is more effective than long, unfocused study sessions.
Is ACT Science included ?
ACT Science is not included at this time. PrepPraxis is currently focused on delivering high-quality practice for ACT English, Math, and Reading. ACT Science coverage is planned for a future release and will be added once it meets our quality standards.
Scoring & Analytics
How do you estimate score ranges?
PrepPractice uses realistic scoring models that convert practice performance into estimated ACT score ranges. These estimates help students understand where they stand while focusing on improvement rather than exact score predictions.
What insights will I see after practice?
After each practice session, students can view topic-level accuracy, difficulty-level performance, and time usage insights. These analytics help students understand both strengths and areas that need improvement.
How do recommendations work?
Based on performance data, PrepPraxis highlights areas that need the most attention and suggests where students should focus next. Recommendations update automatically as students continue practicing.
Planning & Billing
Is there a free option ?
Yes. PrepPractice offers a free option that allows students to explore the platform, complete starter practice, and experience the learning flow before upgrading.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Paid plans can be canceled at any time through your account settings.
Do you offer refunds?
Refund eligibility depends on the plan and usage. Please review the refund policy or contact support if you have questions about your specific subscription.
Technical & Support
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. PrepPractice works on desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers, allowing students to practice from any device.
What if I run into a technical problem?
If you experience a technical issue, our support team is available to help. We aim to resolve most issues within 24 hours.
How do I contact support?
You can contact support through the platform’s support or contact page. We’re happy to assist with questions about access, content, or technical issues.
